ESL Orientations
- Students interested in joining ESL classes MUST register for orientation using our online registration page (registration will open periodically throughout the year)
- Only students with a confirmed appointment will be admitted to our registration/orientation sessions.
- We will not register students over the phone or in the office.

Welcome!
ESL classes assist you to achieve mastery of language skills in speaking, reading, writing, and listening. Courses integrate English grammar and vocabulary skills with relevant basic knowledge in the areas of United States employment, health, housing, banking, and nutrition. Knowledge of American culture and idiomatic English are stressed.

What is unique about EAS ESL?
- Classes are free.
- Students can choose either morning or evening classes.
- Students meet with teachers online and in-person weekly.
- Our instructors engage in regular training and have extensive experience teaching students learning a second language.
- Our program uses advanced, modern, and engaging learning tools.
- Orientation is conducted by a bilingual College & Career Technician to place you in the best-suited class level and provide ongoing support throughout your time at EAS.
- New ESL students receive a warm welcome and a comprehensive introduction to our program.

Escondido Adult School offers five levels of English as a second language. Students are placed in their appropriate class level based on their orientation placement exams.
Our class levels are as follows:
- Beginning Literacy
- Beginning Low
- Beginning High
- Intermediate Low
- Intermediate High/Advanced

Keys to success in ESL:
- Our first weeks of ESL class will be critical to making sure you have the right tools to succeed in our class.
- You will be introduced to the curriculum, provided training to use technology to enhance learning English, and set goals to master your class-level competencies.
